This University of New Mexico Logo is 200 microns wide, which is the same as 0.2 mm. That's roughly the width of two strands of human hair. It was fabricated on a piece of silicon using a Focused Ion Beam at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. Using multiple line spacings, various colors of light are reflected from the logo when it is illuminated with a white light source. By changing the position of the light source, different colors are reflected.
