Tony Nelson (5092, 209), Running Back, University of Massachusetts, has a good combination of size, power and speed. He is a strong, downhill between-the-tackles runner who hits the hole hard, will drop his shoulder and fall forward. He has good power and balance to stay on his feet and spin off tacklers. Tony shows nice short area quickness and can also take the corner. He is a capable receiver coming out of the backfield. He is also a tough blocker and stops blitzes in their tracks. Tony participated in the Harvard Pro Day on March 10, 2010 and the UMass Pro Day on March 25, 2010. The two-time All-CAA selection and Walter Payton Award candidate ran a 4.47 40-yard dash, a 6.62 3-cone, a 4.21 short shuttle, had a 36 ½ vertical, a 104 broad jump and 18 reps on the bench.
