This song is one of Hope. I have lost someone very special to me lately. I hear this, and I realize God has sent me a sign...not a warning but a gift. You are gifted by God.
Thank you for showing me the Hope I needed.
Blessed be!
Long live Israel!

-
@NATEandtheMONKEY pardon me for putting "the" ukraine. didn't know it was a faux pas
-
I didn't think there were any jews left in the ukraine.
my grandfather" father on my moms side is from odessa.

Please use the Ukrainian spelling of Kharkiv instead of the Russified version you use. By the way, for future reference, it's Kyiv and Lviv. Also, for a poster below it's Ukraine, not "the" Ukraine, as Russians spell it demeaning the country.

HaTikva is not meant as a warrior hymn. It means "The Hope" and is an expression of a dream--a dream of peace and freedom in our land. We have become warriors again because we had to--it was either fight or swim, and there wasn't a friendly landing spot within swimming distance. So let the Turks fight with the Greeks, we want Shalom, We want peace.
Happy birthday Israel!
Israel is a democratic oasis in the Arabian dictatorial Sahara.
Long Live Israel!
P.S I am EGYPTIAN, in Egypt bribe, corruption and favoritism r everything,
but Israel is a goood example for freedom and democracy, which r absent in the despotic, Fascist, Nazi Islamic World.
Viva Israel!

Thank G-d they know the words and are allowed to sing this inspirational song. 70 years ago, they would be shot. Mazel Tov

Yes, this sentiment was not lost on us - the guests from the University of Michigan. Some of the Jewish students singing Hatikvah in the video did not even know they were Jewish during their first years of life.
