Heavy Metal Jet Team
2011 Lancaster Airport Community Days Airshow
Lancaster Airport
Lititz, Pennsylvania
Saturday August 20, 2011
Closing out the airshow on Saturday at the Lancaster Airport was the Heavy Metal Jet Team, which comprises of five L-39 Albatrosses and a single MiG-17 Fresco. The MiG, as you can tell, is piloted by Dale "Snort" Snodgrass, and the team has definitely tightened up their show, as you can see. I, however, had a difficult time filming their show, due to the haze and trying to see if I could have their routine memorized (which I didn't have memorized, but I knew they had certain parts of the show, but didn't know exactly when). The crowd absolutely LOVED the team!
I apologize for the black or white blips in the video, as I still have yet to figure out what causes it.
If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
I WAS THERE AND MAN OH MAN THAT MIG-17 IS A SIGHT TO SEE! THAT TEAM IS A A+ WITH THAT MIG AS AN ADDITION! I LOVE THIS DEMO TEAM! I LIVE IN DELAWARE AND THERE IS A DUDE THAT OWNS A MIG-21UM AND A MIG-23 FLOGGER AT THAT AIRPORT! DONT KNOW WHY HE DOSENT PREFORM IN AIRSHOWS!

@Aceviper27 I have video of him flying the MiG-23 five years ago... it's a shame it doesn't get around to some of the local shows here... just for a few passes!
