The Dominican Republic is situated on the eastern part of the second largest island in the Greater Antilles, Hispaniola. The Dominican Republic shares the island roughly at a 2:1 ratio with Haiti. The whole country measures an area of 48,921 km²[37] making it the second largest country in the Antilles after Cuba.[38] The country's mainland has three mountain ranges, those being Cordillera Central (starting from Haiti towards east crossing the island), Cordillera Septentrional, and Cordillera Oriental in the East. In between the Central and Septentrional mountain ranges lies the rich and fertile Cibao valley. This major valley is home to the city of Santiago de los Caballeros and to most of the farming areas in the nation. The country's capital and greatest metropolitan area, Santo Domingo, is located at the southern shore.

and why not just google it if these ppl don´t reply to any of your questions

  • I guess BroadbandTVTravel knows not about what it posts. Seriously, why no replies?

  • hi

    from germany

  • And yet more questions...

Are there any cold water springs there? Caves and aquifers? I imagine that there are some hot water mineral springs, yes?

How about any rainforests like El Yunque in Puerto Rico?

  • Oh yeah, one last question...

How long are the stretch of rapids and how much calm water is there between rapids?

  • Tell us about the Dominican Republic...

I hear that we don't have to worry about crocs, gators, or deadly snakes and spiders, is this true?

What rivers have rapids on them?

    What class rapids are they?

Are they there year round or does the change in rainfall throughout the year change things too much?

What's the crime and poverty there like? Is it any worse than Puerto Rico?
