Live t.v. performance 1984.
From nth generation tape so visual quality is pretty atrocious.
To quote Debbie from the Syrian Mosque performance:
"HUTT! WOO!"

  • Their big mistake was to follow orders of the record company executives who wanted Hoffs to front all their singles. It effectively turns the others into a backing band with the front man/woman getting all the attention and best breaks while the rest become demoralised.

  • Amazing!! These girls were the best band of girls ever: 3 excellent vocals, 1 wonderful vocal (we can deny Hoffs is one of the most impressive female voices of the world), and 4 good instrumentists too. Thank you very much for have existed, Bangles!

  • What we have here is one of the top all female rock groups that ever hit the stage. Their vocals are off the charts. We've got a damn good bass player: Michael; a decent guitar player, a good drummer, and that hot little front chick who can sing but plays an indifferent rhythm guitar. And there you have it.

  • Vicki sure is energetic.

  • Well I enjoyed that.

  • Rushed and too fast tempo. doesn't even compare to the original by Katrina & The Waves...not even close.

  • In m mind, female Beatles. There have been other female groups, but this is as close as it gets to being the opposite sex equivalent. (Talk among yourselves!)

  • funny how the camera finds Susanna even thogh she's not singing. As Joe Dim aggio said to Reggie Jackson:It's called star appeal kid; and you've goti it in spades.

  • When I saw them in Seattle (about this same time) Susana raced along on Acoustic guitar about a half beat ahead of the drummer - I loved them and they played a great set... but Susana needs to actually in time with the beat....

The one thing that really impressed me was how great they played and all sang...
