I just realized I read missviolin0614's comment incorrectly. I, too, find the wrist vibrato easier. The arm movement is much harder for me also. My arm tires so quickly despite using a tiny dumbell, that was being used as a door-stop. I am truly determined. If I fail, it won't be for the lack of trying. :-)
More than any other technique, learning vibrato requires patience. It's not particularly fun to learn either. Just stick to it. A few minutes EVERY day. Consistency is important. Good luck.
I'm just the opposite, though fairly slow. I'm obsessed with learning both wrist and arm. I'm VERY right-handed and bowing came sooo easily, that I thought learning the violin would be a breeze, but when I started left hand with vibrato, it was like I was all spastic. It was a very humbling experience. For days, I've just practiced arm and wrist vibrato - no bow. I'm going to make my brain understand I can walk and chew gum at the same time, so help me Bob! grrr
woah!!! this video helped me a lot!!! thank you so much!!! phew!! wow....i really should be patient with my violin from now on...xD
