I humbly submit a video to a fellow wandering soul...

The song's about his feelings after having lost P.J. Harvey, or so I seem to remember reading in a music mag somewhere, but I love that the song's so interpretable.

A song for to listen to as you stare into the distance wondering why it all went wrong. Also the best song ever written about going to Mass while completely heart-broken.

well done on this clip, it sums it all up. good lad

This song and the whole album, the boatman's call, are way underapreciated in Nick Cave's discography.
It portrays feelings the vast majority of people can relate to, but in a deep and touching way, not like the mainstream musicians of today try to.
Great work on the video too, even though the song doesn't necesarily tell about death, even though it can be interpreted that way.

@hakeswill1 Brompton Oratory (Nick Cave) // Up those stone steps I climb // Hail this joyful day's return // Into its great shadowed vault I go // Hail the Pentecostal morn // The reading is from Luke 24 // Where Christ returns to his loved ones // I look at the stone apostles // Think that it's alright for some // And I wish that I was made of stone // So that I would not have to see // A beauty impossible to define // A beauty impossible to believe // ...

One of the best songs in the world. Definitely a desert island disc.
