The literal translation of "Lu pien ti ye hua pu yau chai" means "don't pick up flowers on the roadside".

The symbolic meaning means that if one is attached or married, do not pick up on other single females (symbolised by flowers) nor smile flirtatiously.

This song has some traditional Chinese beat to it unlike others that are more westernized. This has also been done by many singers in the 1970's and this version of Zhang Xiao Ying is my favorite.

This karaoke video uses her original voice and music but the script is being acted out by younger models,

  • Sublime !!!

    Beautiful sweet love song.........

Very soft and touching beautiful voice !!!!!!!

  • @tammytsuiyuenman - true, when she was young she has a great igh and sweet voice, even better

    than Whitney Houston.

But by the 80's, her voice started getting lower and deeper.

  • try sing this song on weddings

  • @jengkiesville - good advise during a wedding for the loved one not to stray.

Thanks for telling me some history about her.
