  • how about Roman's 9? what do you have to say about that? that screams out God's sovereignty

  • @bebopblues Romans 9 is about nations, not people. It screams out how wrong Reformed theology is.

  • @LOUISRUGG what??? Roman's 9 is not talking about people, it's about God's sovereignty how can you twist the world of God like that.. it's clear as day in roman 9! and also through out the whole bible....

have you ever truly repented of your sins? salvation. is simply not excepting Jesus in your heart.. but true repentance and faith.. given from God himself.. we're only saved by his grace alone.. we as christian have to do the will of God and in obedience.. being slaves of God and not of sin.

  • @bebopblues You're reading too many Calvinism books. Romans 9 is about Israel and the Gentile nations. Romans 9:24 "Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles." And Romans 9:27 "Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved."

  • to faith2overcome: Yes, I'm sure that Reformed theology teaches that God decrees evil. In fact, in one of my earlier youtube videos, I play a clip where Reformer James White states that God actually decrees the rape of a child.

  • to prchdaword: What do you mean, "define free will"? It means what it means. The context of Lesson 2 is that it's the ability to choose to either obey or disobey God's commandments. We all have that. Hey, don't be angry with me for doing this series. According to what you believe (I'm assuming that you're a Calvinist), God decreed that I do it and I have no free will. I'm just doing what God wants me to do. :)

  • Of course, no definition of "free will" is given by LOUISRUGG; nor is the definition of "responsibility" given.

If LOUISRUGG could give us a proper, Biblical definition of "free will", or, "responsibility", it would help the discussion greatly.

Not only this, but LOUISRUGG doesn't seem to know what an "imperative" is; He thinks imperatives imply ability (the same mistake Erasmus made in the 16th century, which Dr. Luther corrected).

Pity that LOUISRUGG is making the same mistake today.

  • @bebopblues How can someone turn from sin (repent) before receiving Salvation or the Holy Spirit that makes no since if that were possible we wouldn't need a Savior it is what JESUS has done NOT us our works are filthy rags we CAN NOT keep the law Jesus can and did that is why we must Trust in what HE has ALREADY done repentance and good works is the RESULT of Salvation it is the OUTCOME of receiving the Holy Spirit NOT a part of Salvation

  • @bebopblues If God is Sovereign then what He decrees in His sovereign will, will come to pass. No one is able to change God sovereign will, If they can, then God is no longer sovereign. Since salvation is based on God sovereignity and not man's free will, free will looses.

  • @bebopblues Your free will idea is not Scriptural! Paul said that the children not haven done any good or evil (Ro.9:11a). So God elect's for purpose of making sure that his election will stand (Ro.9:11b) and for His own good pleasure (Eph.1:5). He secures our salvation by His Son (Jn.10:27-29; 6:39;6:44). If we where choosen before the foundation of the world, then tell me where is free will?

  • @bebopblues Let's see! Paul said that whom he did foreknew, he predestinated to be conformed to the image of his Son . . . Moreover whom he did predestinate; them he called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified (Ro 8:29-30). Now he continues with Ro. 9 and explains why God predestinates anyone. He said the children, not even born yet, . . . so that God's election will stand, elected Jacob over Essau. That is the purpose of Pauls letter.

  • @LOUISRUGG Your suppositions are incorrect! God does not decreed evil. That's like saying God made Adam sin. No, The Scripture is clear that "No one seek or want God (Ro.3:10-19). You sin because you want to sin, God makes no one sin. it is God who does the chooses, what does free will have to do with it? Jesus said: NO MAN CAN COME TO ME EXCEPT IT WAS GIVEN OF HIM BY MY FATHER (Jn6:65) That means "NO ONE". All who the Father draws will come (Jn 6:37), That means All. So where is free will?

  • @LOUISRUGG I hate to rain on your party but God Elects only His chosen to salvation. His reason's are simple, In order for His election to stand. Jesus makes it plain as day. No one can come to me unless the Father draw's him (Jn 6:65). He also points out that all that the Father give Him will be saved. That's means that they will never be lost (Jn 6:37-44). Paul said that God Predestinated the elect before they were even born (Eph.1:4,5). So your theology is wroong!!!!

  • @rntlee Who 'dat....who 'dere? DANG!!!
