Middle voice not too beautiful - but it is not bad, but not for her.
Sound not very clear.

When London/Decca announced Joan's recording of TURANDOT it raised plenty of eyebrows, but it turned out to be a wonderful performance. I don't think she ever tried it on stage, though.

@laxjetbear Well, she did sing live and in studio the role of Suor Angelica, arguably one of Puccini's most demanding heroines, and it was a very successful role for her. Of course that doesn't mean Sutherland would fare even better or as well in Puccini repertoire than on her "traditional" repertoire, but she had everything required to sing some Puccini heroines with plenty of intensity, squillo and good taste.

Absolutely exquisite! Just another performance to justify my belief she was the greatest soprano of all time.
