This is an emergency response to the destruction of the library at Occupy Wall Street, a clear attempt to destroy the education of passionate people who are tired of living in a deeply flawed system.

Razing libraries and burning books has historically failed every time; thiis will be the most colossal failure to repress education in history, because this time, the education will not be centralized.

Just as the library was a collection of donated books, OccupyEducated.org is a place where you can have your say as to what books are important reading for understanding the occupation.

Actually the comparison to the Nazis is not correct - I think this is even worse... You see the Nazis understood that books are dangerous. BUT Bloomberg actually doesn't give a shit. They didn't burn the books - they threw them in the garbage. And that's not the same thing.

The People's Library is taken down but you can't take down an idea, you can't eliminate thought, you can't stop closed conversation. I see girlies with lockets with microSD cards inside who swap those out, read and share images, books, notes - some get posted online. Technology = tools & knowledge. Use 'em. Share your titles with the site, share your pulp books or scan your books to PDF and share on thumb drives, CD, microSD. Trade. Teach. Don't be afraid to learn. Just saying...
