Many hitters have problems keeping their hard focus " eye's on the ball to the point of contact. The Head On The Ball training device will help your hitters develop that hard focus and become better hitters by seeing the ball clearly , keeping their head down and staying focused through contact.
Head on the Ball should perhaps be better called " Eyes on the Ball" because it gives an athlete an opportunity to develop hard focus. Hard focus cannot be maintained for long periods but it is critical for the athlete to hit the ball. Mike Kellogg can guide you in learning this hard focus ability with his innovative tool.

  • The thing on his feet is either preventing him from turning his hips or he just isnt turning his hips. While its important to keep your head on the ball if you have no hip turn your power decresases dramatically.

  • @pb07pb agreed. This was an experiment using dual products. Head On The Ball and "kinetic bands" by Coach Marlin McQueen. We will define the use of the two products at a later date. There is definitely value in strengthening lower body while training "head down". This was a first time experiment and the footage is raw. I don't cut and delete tape. I use raw footage and let the viewer make their own decisions.

  • @pb07pb Be creative in the use of both of these products. Head On The Ball batting visor (I am not a Doctor) relaxes peripheral vision. Once you take it off peripheral vision works with "hard focus" making objects seem "bigger" "moving slower" "appear whiter". At least those are the comments I get from students. Also see testimonials from 2 Doctors on my website. After using the "kinetic bands" legs are stronger, more core balance,

  • Agreed. Coach Marlin McQueen a good friend of mine and inventor of "kinetic bands" got together to give dual product use a try. Actually we didn't take video of the batter after taking the bands off but his stance and balance were much stronger. Kinetic Bands are awesome for strength and conditioning. Google kinetic bands and watch the many uses of this awesome product. I've used them on pitchers, catchers, for base steeling and more!!

  • Hi, cadj2008. Thank you for the comment. I agree that muscle memory is very important in hitting the baseball. That's why, in batting practice with "Head On The Ball", I always start the hitter on the tee. The problem with just hitting off the tee is that the head is already down o the point of contact. There is no memeory of following the ball into the strike zone. Some muscle memory is bad habit. Example: pulling your head when the upper body rotates into the pitch. Good Luck

  • When are coachs going to stop and reducate themselves on the proper way to hit a baseball. You need to build a solid foundation in order to produce the end product, which is hitting the baseball with success. Hitting off a pitching machine and wearing a helmet with a black face sheild does not train your muscle memory to produce the same swing mechanics over and over again. Let me ask this question? What is the #1 hitting drill a MLB hitter always work on. And the answer is: Hitting off a tee.
