we need a cure for this......

Hi Sophie, well done, that was really good. This is excellent for other children to see. You remembered to do the "air shot" first and also kept the needle in and counted to ten to make sure that the insulin was all in. You're a star.

I just got diagnose with type 1 diabetes four days ago. And i have to give myself insulin but im scared and im 14!! years old. Any advise?

@kelmarie9 I'm Type 2 diabetic and I'm on 2 injections a day. However, I spent 11 years on just pills. If you gain too much weight, aren't strict with your diet and don't exercise, you'll probably wind up on injections.

Hi.
I'm Sonya too. I'm 6 years old. I have diatebes 1 type too. It's a pitty. My father did me first injection 3 days ago. Every day we see this video before injection.

Well done Sophie! :) I have type 1 too, but I'm not on the pen yet, I'm using a normal needle. But I'm going on to the pen soon and I'm really nervous >.<

Very well performed!!

Thanks Sophie! I just did my first injection with your help. I am no fan of needles, but I figured if a six-year-old can do it, I can do it at 30 years old :)

Thanks Sophie! I just did my first one after I figured if a six year old could do it, a 30-year-old should not be afraid! :)

No, type 1 means your pancreas produces no insulin, it's an autoimmune condition whereby your body attacks itself, no-one knows why. You are insulin dependant for life. Type 2 means either you produce not enough insulin, or your body doesn't control insulin/glucose balance properly - either way you will be on tablets not injections. Good luck x
