  • Maybe true. My grandpas Harley did take a dump but he rotted out the tank and gas lines by letting it sit 5 years so that's to be expected. I'm getting ready to buy another bike and have my mind going crazy for months on what to get. I want a super reliable bike that can go 10 hours with no trouble. Any suggestion?

  • @Ilive2rideharley Avoid Victory before 2002 and avoid the Vision - Solid, reliable - very little to them to go wrong - Extreme reliability wise... That black Goldwing of mine is 43,000 past 1 million - I'm running a massive oil cooler and I'm a freak about changing my oil every 1000 miles - Running 15w40 truck oil in it - 9 clutches, 1 set of heads - normal timing belts n such/scheduled maintenance

  • I love all bikes but Harley is a good brand and I've always seen them last a long time

  • @Ilive2rideharley Out of the ones I've got ... I've had nothing but bad luck with Harleys - even the Vrod (05) has been on the side of the road more times in 85,000 miles than my goldwing has in over 1 million - I love working on em in the shop -- But not when I just plain want to ride

  • @Ilive2rideharley I think the reason they last so long is: Most of the ones I see come through the shop are 20 and 30 years old with under 30,000 miles.... Easily rebuild-able and simple I have to say -- but unless someone spends a fortune getting an engine right - they are poorly machined at best... Loving the Victory 8 ball though - lot better than the first 2 I bought (a V92c and a Vision) Still haven't found all the parts for my Confederate yet (couldn't afford new)

  • You're a pussy. Only people who don't want Harley's cant afford them. All your bikes look like crap. Buy some American muscle and become a man

  • @Ilive2rideharley Umm dippy - I happen to own 8 Hardley Abelsons and 3 victories as well as a couple of Indians.... You must be a weekender with more miles on your 4 wheeled vehicle than your motorcycle -- I aint seen a Harley yet that can meet my basic requirement : Worst thing I wanna be worried about is where I'm changing my oil..Not what I gotta fix next
