Artist Profile for Meghan Oona Clifford ::

After arriving on the West Coast from the heartland 14 years ago, I graduated from Evergreen State College in Washington with my Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Art, then received my Masters in Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute. I earn my keep as the Creative Director/CEO of moreTrees clothing company.

My current series, "Modern Mysticism," explores new mythical archetypes, modes of revelry, and paths to bliss, through what I call Illuminated Portraiture. This portraits are specifically of Phish kids, often at Phish shows, to share the mystical element of the Phish experience.

I work mostly with graphite and paints on vellum, but also produce
sound, video, animation, street interventions and installation projects.

Rumi and Shams serve as my ultimate source of inspiration, and, as their
relationship did, my goal is to provide a vehicle for transcendence.
