I never knew footage existed from Apr 1998! It's hardly WW3 is it? Good to see Hanley put a stop to things (unlike at Philadelphia, where he'd whacked the great man with his bass). But it's true, that lineup was finished - what a shame they couldn't have ended it on better terms.

Ironic that the subsequent black eye was inflicted not by the departing blokes but by gf & keyboardist Julia, the only member to stay with MES until she too was dumped in 2001. Another female saves The Fall! :D

It's the type of people who DON'T like the Fall but think they do who MES would avoid.

I don't believe MES thinks his contribution to music is nil... he's a big fan of his group, unlike many performers who lost interest ages ago and do it just for money or fame or ego.

The Fall *IS* about music, just not music for the sake of music - it's music done the MES way.

If you think MES is a just pissheads ramble incoherently then yes you might as well go live in a pub toilet!
