the robbery was just a device to allow a "criminal" view point on the subject, ie the criminals side with archie's thinking because being criminals they know they would fear if everyone was armed.

its why bartenders like everyone to believe there is a shotgun under the bar.

Mike (and liberals) are so lame. "If he didn't have a gun he wouldn't have robbed you." What robs is the person's mind. That's where it starts. It's coveting what's not yours. If he didn't have a gun he would have used a knife, or a bat. It starts in the person's mind. The gun is the manifestation of the person's warped sense of thinking.

Libs think that by passing more laws the criminals will change to law abiding citizens. That's warped, but what can you expect from a liberal?

Crime is the breach of rules or laws for which some governing authority (via mechanisms such as legal systems) can ultimately prescribe a conviction. Now that we know what criminals are defined as..lets all remember gun control will not help one bit. Criminals are law BREAKERS and just like illegal drugs, guns are very accessible. There are many bad people in this world and gun control laws will not make that number any less. I am not one to side with Archie but laws will not help this situation

For all the scriptwriter's mockery, Nixon actually ended "sky jackers" by arming people on planes. The installation of sky marshals ( that is men with guns ) ended the rash of hijackings in the 1970's.

As for the burglar, I'm so sure he was obeying all laws regarding the ownership of guns. He might commit robbery, but he would never steal and/or fail to register a firearm, now would he?
