So basically what he's saying that being raised in a christian household and being told that being gay is wrong that it drove him into depression, causing him to act out in unsafe ways and contract AIDS. Ain't religion wonderful?

what's the point of this? ok so this dude wants to be straight. He is choosing it. But obviously he didn't choose to have the same sex feelings. So he choose to not act on it. Big deal, it's his life. Still doesn't mean ppl choose to be gay. He even said that he prayed God take it away. He was praying for it cause he couldn't make that natural feeling go away. :P

You can be "ex-gay" about as much as you can be "ex-black" or "ex-tall". Can't be done. It's tragic how so-called "religious" institutions and their sheeple continue to spread the lie that innate qualities like sexual orientation can be altered.

Indeed, the truth of eternal salvation and relationship has nothing to do with sex ... but everything to do with redemption .. a ransom paid for an Adamic race that had been taken captive by the deciever, accuser, enemy of our Father who has said "I have loved YOU ... with an everlasting love". Most of the church world today lives according to the fruit of that tree of the knowledge of good and evil ... not the tree bearing the spirit of LIFE in Christ Jesus. xoxo

So his "same sex desires" have never changed .. he just decided to be celibate (maybe celibate). That is not being "ex gay" or "former gay" .. That is being celibate. Is there a fundamentalist on this earth who knows or appreciates the value of honesty or integrity? I simply don't believe there is.
