STARS on 45 in Concert (1983) - Part 5 of 9

---------------------------------

Stars on 45 were a novelty pop act that was very popular in the UK, Europe and the U.S. in the early 1980s. The band, which consisted solely of studio session musicians, popularised the medley, by recreating hit songs as faithfully as possible and stringing them together, with a common tempo and relentless underlying drum track. The point was to provide a danceable disco record which used familiar tunes.

They are best known for their 1981 smash hit "Beatles' Medley", which topped the charts in every major international market, and their uncanny ability to sound like the legendary artists of pop music.
Their follow up albums included sound-alike medleys of artists such as Stevie Wonder, the Rolling Stones, Abba, other Motown artists, the classic '70's dance and many others.

  • That's lipsynched, and they aren't playing instruments as well. I wonder why?? It's a concert!

  • maybe because this is a tour band put together to promote the Stars on 45 material (but not the actual people who recorded as Stars on 45)

  • they are as good as the original

  • ninguno de ellos toca instrumento ni siquiera el baterista.... solo observenlo bien la baqueta de la mano derecho no llega a la bateria por la velocidad pareciera que si...

  • @u2santos

there's no lip syncing going on here. I know one of them quite well and that's their voices. the George er..'guy' certainly isn't playing, but the other three are real musicians at least.

  • @Todosobrelosbeatles

the John was Ringo in Beatlemania (as was the Paul guy, too). I have no clue why he wasn't drumming (he's tons better than the one here).

  • They are singing and not lipsynching. I have the entire concert on VHS. It starts at the begining of RnR and stops after disco. The entire concert is great. I would LOVE to find it on DVD.

  • John and George looks like Ringo xD

  • This is soo good u can defenetly dance to this.

  • They definitely weren't playing the instruments. If they were actually singing, then the Paul is pretty decent, the Ringo as well, but they were probably syncing too
