Obama Leads the Call to Serve

In a speech entitled, "A Call to Serve," Illinois Senator Barack Obama recounted his experience as a community organizer and he asked those in attendance at the Cornell College campus in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, to start serving their communities.

He said, "through service I found a community that embraced me, a church to belong to, citizenship that was meaningful, the direction I had been seeking. Through service I found that my own improbable story fit into a larger American story."

He was introduced by former Penn. Sen. and JFK advisor Harris Wofford.

Instead of saying opinions without facts. Why don't you compare the upbringing/inheritance of McCain to Obama? Compare the wealth of McCain to Obama? Compare the houses of McCain to Obama? Compare the cars of McCain to Obama?

Then tell me which politician has a better idea of living week to week. And when YOU don't (as i'm sure you won't). We'll all know who is pulling the wool over your eyes.

He's a politican he has had speech class. He grew up as one of the privleged in this country he doesn;t know what it is like to live from week to week. hoping you'll have enough money to the electric bill. he has the wool pulled over your eyes.

I witnessed this speech 1st hand. Very empowering and inspirational. Also, former Sen. Wofford's introduction speech was superb. What is not shown is how he answered the students questions with such authority and confidence afterwards.
