All the Spanish composers of the Renaissance are more profoundly spiritual than either the italians or the Flemish. It was Spain´s golden age and the music reflected this in depth.

Are there any other choirs better than Westminster in anyones opinions that have the angelic rip thru your body high notes with more of a haunting type theme or war like theme. I just started really listening to this choir sound and the voices are absolutely hypnotizing so need more. Any advice would really be appreciated....Semper fi

This recording - Cristóbal de Morales by the Westminister Cathedral Choir - is the CD I have most often heard in my life and may easily continue to be for quite a while. Their Victoria is on a par: sublime. Particularly the double-chor Salve Regina. Whether these masters imbue that choir with meaning or whether the meaning of these masterpieces imbues the choir with inspiration?
