in this tutorial i show you how to blend or merge two photos using the layer mask tool and the gradiant brush. Gimp is the free photo editing software like photoshop and has all the same functions.

  • Ok first thank you for the video. Second, I have literally done everything you have done step by step to make SURE I didnt miss anything. Everything is fine until I get to the part where you click and drag the linear line to blend or add the gradient. The second pic disappears to black and adds this white line where I dragged the mouse?Is it my gradient settings?Is there a certain type to be using?What is your gradient setting set to? Im going to try and send you a vid of wht I did.Help?

  • @8779firestarter got your video and good to see you figured it out. it may have just been a software bug at the time

  • How do you drag the image mine just paints on the image

  • @dividebysanta use the move tool not the paint brush tool.... you are using that arnt you?

  • i just tried to do this step by step and i failed really quickly ... CNTRL B would not work and then the layers pallet i couldnt find :-(

  • i just tried this. fail. the image isn't big enough. you said fit to image size, but when i do it, it's still small and you can't see both images. help!

  • Which gimp version do you have? I have the thin bar one so it doesn't work the same way
