@4743stephenf hate Long Run. Have also noted at Cheltenham recently that it appears Kauto and Denman, the two real legends of the time have been completely erased from mind. Not what happened to Best Mate, is it?

@vidsee Okay, I hate Robert Waley-Cohen instead :S. Just saying I'll never be happy if Long Run wins because I honestly think that if Long Run was the same age as Kauto and Denman he'd be a mile behind them. Long Run will be good for certain but as good as the Golden Boys? I don't know.

why would you hate a horse,who has no say on what race he/she is put in,the horse tries its best and if it wins whether the handicapper has penalised it or not should not matter,if the horse makes a bad mistake then it could be the last,dick heads

When i was in the stands watching through my binoculars and seeing Kauto dive n land on his neck i dropped my bins and turned away with my hands on my face. I thought that was it. Brill to think he would come and take a 5th king george!!!!!! I know he is a star and a king but can the queen knight a equine sportsman?

@4743stephenf You should do some research. His 2 starts previously at Cheltenhamhad been on the old course which starts downhill, that didn't help him settle and as a result his jumping wasn't all that good. He schooled with Yogi Briesner and wore earplugs in the King George and Gold Cup to help him settle. The Gold Cup is run on the new course, which doesn't start downhill, if you put all 3 together, schooling with Briesner, earlugs and new course, you have a whole different scenario.

@AceLuvsZaynAndKautoX Don't hate horses mate. They only do what's asked of them. Kauto in his prime is the best steeplechaser ever to look through a bridle and there will never be any braver than Denman. They are the two most loved horses in training and everyone hopes they get to a long and happy retirement. If you have to hate anything then hate the greedy owners who keep horses going too long like Persian Punch and Best Mate.
