This method of canning Okra will allow a person to keep okra for months and then still be able to fry it up to be crisp and tasty! Okra battered and fried brown will not be slimy. To use okra that been stored, just put it in a colander and rinse the vinegar out and then cook it. The okra will taste as it just came from the garden.

  • so i was wondering if i could substitute lemon juice instead of vinegar?

  • @cjwilliams101981 I believe vinegar will preserver it better. You can experiment with the lemon juice and let us know.

  • Did you use the presasure cooker? If you did why did not you put the covers on your jars before preasure cooking them.

  • @SidneyBou

We didn't use it for the Okra. We used the pressure cooker for canning Louisiana Purple Hull beans. They are like green beans but are purple in color, but turn green when you cook them. So they end up looking like green beans.

  • How long will it stay good to eat?

  • @MrMunchiemo About a couple of years.

  • Dude, I think you're awesome. Keep on keepin' on

  • Wonderful video! Thank you!

  • @effamae actually most dishwashers and with heated dry gets hot enough to sanitize. Restaraunts are not required to boil their dishes.

  • Do not ever use the dishwasher to sterilize canning jars. They need to be boiled!

  • Most calming video on food preparation ever! Thank you.

  • Thank you for this video....I had just canned a few quarts last night with the pressure canner (40 min at 10 lbs re extension group online). It's almost mush! I'm going to use this from now on.
