Digger's engine is transform from a small block in to a big block.

Digger body change from red to a blue and grey panel truck.

Once again body change to what is now legendry print job.

2000HP Rodeck engine is outlawed in monster truck circuit.

Digger beat both the Kong Brothers and Bigfoot in St. Paul, MN on national television. Digger Dungeon is build. Also Digger finished 5th in the first season of the TNT Motorsports points series with 161.5 pts

Digger expands in to two teams of trucks. The 1st fiberglass body version is made. On the TNT Motorsports circuit Digger finish 4th with 446pts.

This year wasn't Anderson year in race finish in 9th with 340pts. A lot of it was with problems with the truck.

Digger goes to Australia

Dennis Anderson suffered rib injury after hitting the wall after the finish against Mark Bendler at the Louisville Motorspeedway. After that event Lyle Hancock took over the driving that Camel Monster Truck season. Also 1st green chassis appears under the truck.

Grave Digger #12 debuted in St. Louis in January 1997.

On October 17, 1998, a Grave Digger truck carrying twenty-five passengers flipped over, crushing passenger Joy Kubitza's right arm between the truck and the sand. This took place at a promotional show on Virginia Beach, featuring rides in Grave Digger for only US $5. All twenty-five passengers were treated at a hospital and released; Kubitza later returned for an additional 37 surgeries to help with the pain the accident caused. Kubitza was formerly a preschool teacher, but the extent of her injuries prevented her from going back to work. She subsequently sued Grave Digger Inc as well as the show's promoter Cellar Door Entertainment. A settlement was reached the day of the trial and Kubitza will receive US $12 million to be paid over her lifetime. Later that year Dennis sold the rights of the truck to USHRA. Charlie Pauken join the team.

Dennis Anderson wins his 1st championship taken the USHRA points series after the season was over Gary Porter joins the team
