Your form was okay, but like my master said, this isn't a dance. It's a series of fighting moves. So put power in your blocks and strikes.

Ok man, here it is.
Your form was somewhat fine. You finish was slopy, but your begining was exelent. Remember to TRY to TWIST your HIPS more. This will allow you to punch harder, and you're kicking will be 100% affective. Over all, Well done!

needs a good bit of work in order to perfect. I recomend buying the taekwondo encyclopedia by General Choi, the designer of the original forms

We have Gen. Choi's '72 book and go by that, as this is the original way Hwa Rang and the other forms were designed. We also have the DVD set, which emphasizes the sine wave, which we refuse to do because it makes no sense in a martial art.

Differents schools have different methods of training and ways of executing techniques. The person in the video is actually one of the better practioners of this hyung that I have seen. It was a good effort, and would have performed well at one of our tournaments. What school is this? and where? Most taekwon do schools today emphasize sparring more than tradition, its nice to see a real taekwondoist out there. what rank is he?

Our school is Traditional Taekwon-do Kwan in Portland, OR. Mr. Patterson had recently promoted to 1st Dan when videotaped performing Hwa-Rang. We really believe forms are the core of our curriculum, though sparring, breaking, ho shin sul and the fundamentals of kicking and striking are all important.
