I think in the book the Maenad did something to cause the fight to escalate but it started with Bill making a shopping 'tab' at the store so Sookie could buy clothes and Sookie felt like she was being purchased.
I don't mind adding new characters on the show, because in the book you only get to see things through Sookie's eyes and on the show we get to see other character's points of view.
So adding Jessica here gives us some stuff with Bill AFTER the fight.
The maenad looks scary here!

Like alan sed , many chenes in the book is hard to do and i like the nicer bill and he does show sookie that he can be dangerous in the show just like sookie can be crazy .

I really hope this scene was this short just for this sneak peak. If that is all of that scene, I'm going to go into Season 2 with low expectations. That was my favorite scene from book two and I would hate to see it ruined. I hope Sookie and Callisto actually have some dialogue. And maybe Bill could throw Jessica onto a stake or something so she can't interfere with anymore scenes :(
Does anyone know what's happening with Taran this season? Will she become more like her book character or what?

But then, I must say, I like the way this plays out (even if the maenad has turned into the devil crossed with one of the creatures from The Village)....
I can see how they have upped the suspense with recreating this scene though.

So, this is the fight from the second book - with that irritating Jessica involved yet again....
Hmmm.... I really don't see the point to that character. She's ruining some of the best parts of the books!!
