This is restored from the 1992 QuickTime CD. It features Jim Batson, the man that lead the helm in the development of QuickTime. He actually does some really great stop motion work and clever editing in this short film.

The source material was compressed at 160 x 120, 8 bit mono audio at 11.127 khz, at 15 frames per second. The size of the original QuickTime file was 10.4 megabytes. The CODEC used for the video compression was Apple Cinepak.

Enjoy!

  • Look how far we have came, but we are still having fun!!

  • YES an excellent point!

  • Al, did you ever play Spaceship Warlock or The Journeyman Project?

  • HOLY CRAP - "Spaceship Warlock" - 1990 CD-ROM game for the Mac. One of the FIRST "cinematic" CD-ROM adventures. Damn, I think I have that in my library. I should dig it up and post a few minutes of it -- if one of my Macs can play that old stinker! Thanks for watching, Ben!

  • Holy mother! This shows how Apple was getting desperate in the early 90's. Windows 3.00 and 3.11 ate up the whole market. But still, this vid is really cool, and that Jim Batson guy rocks! LOL Thanks for posting! :=)

  • Yes, Jim and his team did some GREAT work. I have more to come from those early CD's that I managed to preserve!

  • wow, that's my dad. the bit he whistles in the beging? sesame street because every morning when my mom left for work she would bring me into their room and turn on sesame street before leaving, so he got to wake up to that tune every morning. I was two. He's still at apple, nearly 30 years later. He had a huge part in bringing about the iphone. And yes, he is a rather goofy man at times.

  • when he ran on the wall...that was the best part
