Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), a former presidential candidate, said the federal government cannot borrow, spend, or print its way out of the current financial crisis, as it is trying to do, and that similar actions by the government in the 1930s only prolonged the Great Depression.

  • from the left and right i have heard

audit and regulate the fed. maybe abolish them altogether...whom do they serve anyway?

  • We should have elected Ron Paul as our President...

  • I think that between now and 2012 Ron Paul should start teaching classes in economics, world history, american history, constitutional law, foreign and domestic policy, monetary policy... Fuck it he should really just open a college...

  • I would argue he's the most honest man in recent history, if not ever.

  • The doctor is in. Listen to him, he's right!

  • I hope and pray that people will understand that those recieving welfare are not looked down upon it is those that believe it is the government's job to give the welfare that I look down upon. We need to understand as a people that dishonsty and cheating need regulation not Markets and Free People! Ron Paul is the most honest man in the current political world!

  • it is not the governments job to provide charity services for citizens. that would be a role best filled by charitable orgs. u make an ad hominem thinking I look down on those who receive welfare instead of providing a logical counter argument. with roughly $70 trillion due in entitlement spending in the coming yrs I would not rely on Social sec. this gets the the inherent problem of your cause, socialism=central economic planning does not work whether it is by the fed res, bush, obama, fdr, etc

  • I've never received nor sought any services from above mentioned programs. I would like my SS taxes back eventually. Charity deductions have been abused. Just because the government puts services in place doesn't mean you have to use them. Be like Paul, look down on anybody using government services.

  • I think what Paul refers by saying cradle to grave is: social security, the idea of national health care, fdic, welfare, medicare, medicaid, fed gov bail outs, etc. all of these policies supress freedom of the individual because the gov takes $ from the producing for these programs. obama wants to eliminate charity support from private people (ending tax writeoff) to get charities to seek gov handouts. this is the march of socailism we need to fight. look at walter reed to see gov healthcare.
