Ukuleles have been in short supply since last Christmas. You could try the Kala website and see if they could direct you to a distributor.

I guess it helps if you already play guitar and a bit of banjo. I had a very long break from playing instruments, and the ukulele was really responsible for rekindling my musical hobby. So, even though I was totally rusty and out of practice on any stringed instrument, it was still helpful to have that experience to build on.

@ukeKaLori ukulele is tuned completely differntly from guitar though.

Strings 1-4 on a guitar are DGBE... put a capo on the 5th fret and you get ukulele tuning GCEA except the G is one octave higher than the guitar. Same relationship of notes from string to string for melodies, and chord shapes are the same but in a different key (a D chord on the guitar becomes a G chord on the ukulele).
