I really dig Chris Stamey. He has a pretty unique vocal style that is slightly smart alecky and sincere at the same time. Very arresting and eternally youthful, he manages to set a nostalgic vibe. A real original.

Is this the original, produced by Alex Chilton? My copy got warped some years ago so I haven't heard it in years, (making do with the re-make), but it sounds like it ... if my memory serves me well

@bounceandmickey i got this from the compilation album linked in the description. the booklet mentions Alex Chilton's production and credits it to the 1977 single, so I guess it's the same version you're talking about, but it doesn't include the other side.
