This video is of the rescue of a foal caught in a fence at the end of Topaz St. in Silver Springs (NV) while his wild mama looks on. The lead person (holding onto the foal in the video) is Mike Holmes from the Nevada Department of Agriculture.

The foal got cut up pretty good before a local resident spotted him. Mike and James washed out the little guy's wounds before we put him back on the proper side of the fence. The barbed wire cuts had to be painful but none were really serious.

Another Saturday morning in Nevada!

  • There is actually a network of groups that work together and do REAL hands-on work in order to make this stuff happen: LRTC, Let 'Em Run, Hidden Valley, Wild Horse Protection League, Fish Springs Posse, Wild Horses in Need, Lifesavers, Mustangs of America, Whispering Winds, and the Alliance of Wild Horse Advocates, not to mention all the "behind the scenes" groups that handle political issues and support the field groups. (Not enough space to list everyone, but this is a team effort.)

  • all horses should be wild and free, and have a chance to make family bonds like witnessed in this video, rather than carry human a**es on their backs.

  • A good deed. Thanks for saving this precious , little one. Now let's get H.R . 1018 passed to save them all . Call D.C. Rep. at 202-224-3121

  • Thank you to three amazing advocates for wild horses. Willis, Mike, and James, you are awesome and I am so grateful that you are there. Wish I were able to help!

  • You better believe it, talk about boots on the ground, and walkin' the walk. These guys prove here that they are all about solutions, and being proactive.

  • Thankyou for all you do Willis, Mike and James and all others that help the wild ones so often! You are their guardian Angels :)

  • This is great to see, wild horse advocates once again stepping up to the plate to help. Mike is priceless, to lose him would be a great loss. Whenever you need him, he's there.

  • Way to go! I'm glad his injuries weren't bad enough to seperate him from his herd and mom. Finally, some GOOD wild horse news!

  • KUDOS! You guys rock!
