  • I play Bb bass clarinet and it cost a few grand I can't imagine how much that cost

  • @CDC5482 This particular model only cost about $3,000 but a professional Selmer model would cost up to around $30,000

  • I play bass clarinet and I love how low I can go! :D I'm a beginner but I'm the only one in my band and I'm getting better.. My band has only 15 people and the grade ahead of mine has 15 so we get together and play as one big band! :D 2 bass clarinets 4 clarinets 5 flutes 1 trombone 2 tubas 5 trumpets 4 alto saxophones 6 percussionists :) long live band :)

  • @23mrsedwardcullen ~~ I love it! Keep up the good work! Sounds like you're really enjoying it! Just remember! Practice! Practice! PRACTICE!!! LOL

  • It's meant for bass clarinet though.

  • @AmaLeGay It was actually written for contrabassoon to be exact.

Honestly, I play the BBb tuba too and they each present their own challenges. You can't say one is harder than the other kiddo.

  • @inexactcleric Thas what she said XD

  • Where did you get your reeds? I cant find any for my contrabass.

  • Contrabassoon Solo!!!! :O!!!!

  • @23mrsedwardcullen yeah im getting a bass clarinet tommorow :D i play regular clarinet but im moving on to bass clarinet. my friend says its the same fingerings as a regular clarinet so im ready :D

  • I've played this instrument for 4 years in high school. It is so fun, stick with it man. The only thing I can tell you to work on is Rhythms, Scales, Chromatic Scale, and Speed. Intonation will come in time. Intonation is how good or bad your tone sounds. In this video there's some air going through the horn instead of it all supporting the tone. The way to fix it is to practice a lot and to make sure your mouth seals the mouthpiece good. Assuming your reed is in good condition. Good Luck!

  • i want to play that soo badly my band instuctor might let on of the 3 of us play it, i really hope he picks mee(:

  • @12Xenna

Yeah the reed sizes are the same for Contrabass Clarinet, Contra-alto Clarinet, and Bass Saxophone. (not to be confused with Baritone Saxophone)

  • Are the fingerings the same as the other clarinettes?

  • I play this instrument also 8D I love it so much ^^

I play this one and Bflat, and I prefer alto contras because of how deep they are C:

-I HATE the high pitched sound the Bflat clarinet makes-

  • @14MichMex Not sure if it actually counts, but Gregg Bailey's PVC clarinet should be last.

  • Does a Contra Bass and Contra Alto have the same reed size?
