Inspired by Softwire's lovely photograph - reminiscent of a Francis Bacon painting or Louis Le Brocquy portrait - "In those earlier images the head image itself was reduced almost to the isolated image of an open mouth -- and this I saw not as a sort of silent scream, but rather as an opening into the dark space of the interior being."
