Ironman Arizona 2009 - My Finish

This is my view of the final 1/4 mile or so of the 2009 Ironman Arizona, 11/22/09. This was my third attempt at the Ironman distance, and the first time I finished. My time was 16:14:09, but hey! I made it before midnight!

Friend! HOORAY for you! Congratulations to you for not giving up! (if it was easy... everybody would/could do it!) that's how come it's called "IRONMAN" and not "plasticman" or "tissueman". IMAZ 2009 was my very first Ironman... and while I ran the same route as you... I do not remember it as your video shows it. What a nice treat to re-live my own success... and to view yours as well. People who do not do this will never understand... people ask "why"... tell them because "I can"!

@jkthemod Thank you so very much for your kind post! It is so very nice to hear this from a fellow Ironman, because you know just how tough this race is, both physically and mentally. It definitely is not for the faint of heart. I cannot explain the magic of this brutal race to someone who has not raced it, because they will never understand; I do not need to explain it to you, another Ironman, because you already know. This is what makes the race so special...

This video is inspirational and I want to thank you for sharing your experience. I am currently competing in Sprint Tri's and hope to graduate to Olympic next year and half in 2012. The plan is to compete in and complete an Ironman in either 2014 or 2015. When I'm in need of a video to keep me focused on my goals I come back to your video.
