Every night, I'm working on making baby blankets for charity. Several of us in the Knitting Help Forum take turns adding more to make the blankets complete. Last night, I was knitting while watching the Appendices on the Lord of the Rings DVD. I decided to hold the camera under my chin while I knit, so you could see my stitching.

  • If you're making the whole blanket at once, it's easier to use circular needles, because all the stitches fit. (It's not possible to fit 200 or 300 stitches on a regular straight needle.)

But, you can knit strips for a blanket and seam them together. The strips can be knit on straights.

  • Quick question, when you are knitting a blanket is it the circular needles you need? I wanted to start making blankets, I have made scarves. It is relaxing.
