The great brazilian actress and pianist GLORIA MENEZES (b.1934), the most elegant woman in TV, in 1990. She was Laurinha Figueroa, a very elegant lady from the High Society of the past, a notorius traditional dame who has no money anymore. She doesn´t accept the reality of the new riches, like Maria do Carmo (Regina Duarte) and their values. She commits suicide after lost everything , even her importance.

when we loose things that matter to us, we still have ourselves to take care...we do not suicide to destroy other people....here in Brazil people still use the expression coisas de Laurinha to say that something is absurd...
