What are the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib ji regarding other world religions? How is the approach of a Sikh towards interfaith relations, understanding between faiths, and being steadfast in your own faith while respecting others? What is universal love and its role in a Sikh's life?

  • Thank you for this; I really enjoy all the episodes of Seeking Sikhism. I am curious though, if tolerance of other religions is such a tenant of Sikhism, how do we explain the tension between some members of the mainstream Sikh faith and the Namdhari sect?

I am also curious what the Sikh stance on homosexuality is (thats a hot-button for sure - sorry if I put you on the spot)

  • @wholegreaterthansum Tension exists where ignorance exists in all aspects of every society. Dharma is about truth & knowledge. Those who believe truly neither create ignorance, nor follow it nor get tension. Peace

  • Hello. This video is very informative. I would like to learn and listen to Sikh scriptures but I can not understand Punjabi. Is there anywhere in the United Kingdom, where the Gurdwara functions are carried out in English? I want to hear, but I can't because of the language barrier.

  • @amr7k at rajkaregakhalsa website, in audio section all our kirtan mp3s have "View Gurbani" links to see the english translations of what is sung.

Most of the larger Gurdwaras have projectors which display "SikhiToTheMax" Gurbani translations during sunday kirtan. ask at a large Gurdwara when the youth do simran/kirtan & you will gain the company of many others in same position as you.

  • @Danielgraph In Sikhism there is no wrong or right way of meditation, the simplest way is sitting cross legged and repeating God's name in your mind. People do ask the best technique (I.e. sit up straight, say Wahe thru your nose then exhale the Guru) what counts is your concentration and how much focus there is. I suppose u could sit cross leg and meditate on Jesus? just a suggestion. For beginners about 5 minutes should be enuff, but the more attuned u get, the more minutes/ hours u can spend

  • @amr7k In the UK, Guru Tegh Bahadhur Gurdwara, Leicester (Leicestershire). It's on East Park Road. Every Friday night for 19.15 to 21.00 hours. Not sure how far this is from u, but hope it helped.

  • you both speak a huge amount of commonsense . thank you .

  • thank you brother, thanks for getting back so quickly. peaceful travels
