Each bomber crew in the 8th Air Force in England was assigned 30 (daylight) missions. The survival rate for bomber crews was 30% (AND THEY KNEW IT!).

Since only half of the Kamikaze pilots were eventually assigned a mission, their survival rate at the war's end was 50%!
