GoldenEye Overture

A combination of the soundtrack in the film GoldenEye (1995) theatrical trailer mixed with footage from the Nintendo 64 game Goldeneye 007 (by Rareware) and phoenix_advance's weird humour ... welcome to my world!

The theatrical trailer song was made by "ParodiFair". I've taken it directly from my DVD and edited it. So it probably sounds different from retail.

About a month ago (when I finally got off DialUp and onto Broadband in Feb 2007) I started watching YouTube videos for the first time. I noticed that there were a few people that have already beaten me to doing the modified gun barrel (though not in the same way, mine has the James Bond character from the N64 game). The point I want to make is that it was my own original idea and I had not copied them. People all just come up with the same ideas sometimes with limited permutations of concepts ... we're all human after all!

I used Windows Movie Maker (WMM) to edit my video. It was simple and I 'm glad I didn't use one of the professional video editing programs. There's NOTHING WRONG with Windows Movie Maker!

I used Project64 emulator to capture video clips from the game Goldeneye 007. I did this because I got really upset after buying a $100 video capture PCI card and finding out that it captured blurry recordings from my real N64 (too bad I can't get a refund as it's not broken). So basically, in the end I decided to go with the clear pictured emulated version with no skies over the horrid blurry images with skies from when I connected my N64 to the computer.

I spent my Goldeneye 007 years blowing things up in the game with Remote Mines. So there were many favourite scenes that I wasn't able to include into the final video clip for editing reasons ... especially when I'm trying to sync the actions to the soundtrack.

For the record, YES! I did waste 12 hours trying to capture a scene in the level "Streets" where I'd make two people fly/roll-flip out of the building windows. In the end I never got around to do it properly and thus it never made it into the final version of this video clip.

I'm worried about copyright issues, but I've seen a lot worst on YouTube. For everyone's information ... yes I do own an original copy of the film GoldenEye on DVD. In fact I'm a little disappointed about it because recently an Ultimate version came out for half the price I paid mine for and it has DTS sound ... mine only has Dolby Digital!!!

There are so many great comments I have read so far for this video. I appreciate each and every one of them, especially from thrashfan666 and DarthEndar to name a few who have picked up on my weird humour.
