@RealDare2 how can he be a racist towards his own race? I highly doubt he tried to prevent white guest stars and white crew members on the set of Bonanza. He wanted equality for everyone. He didn't go along with racism, so stop trying to spread rumors about Pernell.

I certainly didn't know he wore a toupe on Bonanza all those years he was on it. You couldn't tell. That was damn realistic for 50 years ago. He was one sexy actor.

This video was beautful, with all of the wonderful clips. I so adored this man, he was one of a kind. Now he is with his son again in heaven. Rest in peace Pernell. You will be missed by so many.

He did not think they had a right to earn a living in the entertainment business. Hee thought only blacks should be allowed to guest appear on the Bonanza show! He was an militant activist and marched with Luther King on many occasions>
