Passenger: TSA Targeted Me For Cowboys Jersey Alyson Galen believes she was targeted by TSA officials at Philly International for her Dallas Cowboys jersey.

A Dallas Cowboys fan believes it was her jersey, not security, that led TSA screeners to pull her out of line for additional searches at Philadelphia International Airport.

Wearing her Cowboys jersey, lifelong fan Alyson Galen was headed to the terminal "C" screening area to board a flight to Florida on January 15 when, before she even got to the metal detector, she was ordered by a TSA screener to get out of line.

"My husband said to me 'did you beep?' And I told him I didn't even go through the metal detector," Galen told Eyewitness News.

Galen, a mother of three, was on her way to Florida with her husband following the death of a family member.

However, she found herself being patted in a plexiglass area in full view of other passengers.

The biggest shock for Galen, who never asked TSA officials why she was being singled out, came when a screener walked up to her as she was putting her shoes back on to resume her trip.

"He walked up to me and said 'how's it feel to be a Cowboys fan in Philadelphia?' I did tell him 'wow,'" Galen said.

Galen said if in fact TSA screeners pulled her out of line for a search because of her Cowboys jersey and if they thought it was a joke, she is not laughing.

"People need to understand you can't joke in this day and age. People around the world are trying to hurt us as Americans and you just can't joke about that."

Galen, who did not file a formal complaint, said she hopes TSA will offer an explanation and apology.

TSA officials released a statement to Eyewitness News that read in part:

"TSA trains our workforce to screen each passenger with dignity and respect. If travelers feel they have been mistreated during screening, we encourage them to ask for a supervisor at the checkpoint.

  • if she didn't care enough to file a complaint or ask for a supervisor why does she care enough to go on TV and complain?

  • @FORZION She was listening to a radio station where they were accepting calls about incidents with TSA, and she never asked to be on TV, she was asked by the radio station to go on.

  • Vote for Ron Paul if you're sick of TSA and Police State.

  • She should definitely file a law suit considering she was padded down in plain view of other passengers who were boarding. How dare they embarrass her like that! Seriously though, she even suggest they were joking so why make a big deal out of it? No one wants to waste their time and risk their job just to inconvenience a Cowboys fan. This women needs to learn she's not the center of the universe and get on with her life.

  • Honestly,i despise the Dallas Cowboys, but DAMN! This is all kinds of fucked up,

    M.K.

  • SPARTANS! PREPARE FOR GLORY!!!

    WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS

  • File a complaint!! It's the only way to get them to stop this crap!

  • I do not fly anymore. There are (VIPR) TSA checkpoints on the highways now too!!!

  • U know U could actually SUE TSA for something like that and take them to court You should not be treated like that. TSA Denied me a couple of times in Denver for no reason and would not even let me fly to Boston, MA with no proper ID which i had no state issued id. I jumped on TSA and they took every security messures and did a second security search and everything to Borston and flying back to Denver.

  • I am more afraid of the police that I am of the criminal because it's against the law to protect yourself from the police but you can blow a criminals away a policeman can kill or hurt you bad and nothing is done about it they are above the law thousands of times they have killed or hurt innocent people so I am more comfortable been around a criminal than I am around police the police will hurt you or give you a $500 ticket to help their gods the city state or the rich

  • She should have worn a Burka.

  • I was once pulled from a line at O'Hare. I was told I was a random selection to be "bodily searched" for training purposes for new agents, and if I refused the extra procedure I would be arrested. Not only that, but if I left the line before the search I would be arrested. Every TSA agent involved was rude, condescending, and unnecessarily overbearing. I was happily cooperating fully. Apparently one of the requirements for TSA agents in Chicago is to be and asshole. The agents passed wonderfully
