Robert Mitchum (1917-1997) was not only a talented actor, but also an accomplished singer, and he even recorded a few albums. This song is from the film "Rachel And The Stranger" (1948). Enjoy the music and the photos of this unique performer, who made it all look so easy with his naturalistic and often riveting portrayals.

  • A great actor and quite handsome I may add! Never knew he sang and this song you chose was wonderful. What movie was he in where he wrote love and hate on his fingers? Also luved the pic of him and the duke. Thanks for the video Muirmaiden.

  • Glad you like the vid! The film you're referring to regarding the LOVE and HATE on his hands is "Night Of The Hunter" (1955), where he played (brilliantly) a psychopathic, murderous preacher.

  • I love rachel and the stranger. I was kinda hoping she would end up with him, even though he wasn't the right man for her, ONLY because I adore Robert Mitchum

  • he had the perfect look for black and white film noir
