I was fortunate enough to be asked to speak to several groups of elementary school students at the Tinicum Elementary School Earth Day program on Friday April 23rd. I spoke to 7 groups throughout the day that ranged in age from Kindergarten to 5th grade. My presentations were on behalf of Kimberton Whole Foods, the largest independently owned organic health food store in Pennsylvania. Kimberton Whole Foods focuses on supporting local organic agriculture to promote personal wellness, sustainable lifestyles, and environmental awareness. In the theme of Kimbertons mission, my presentation was based on the journey of our whole fruits and vegetables from the time they leave the ground until they end up on our tables.
I a very proud and appreciative to have been able to be a part of such a wonderful event and I thank everyone who made this day possible. It is delightfully refreshing to see this kind of event in public schools.
The children were very attentive and interested and left with a new understanding of what they were eating and how it impacts their lives and their planet.
thats great :)
