@doomsword86 I am hoping to become a cop. Prohibition sucks ass. Drugs are not taboo. People take them all the time. Aspiri when sick, beer when fucking your friend's fat girlfriend. Parents who say, "what about my kids? what if it grows around them?" I say, YOUR JOB IS TO WATCH THEM. It's a plant. It's goign to grow no matter what. Take it up with god. Don't come to my front desk and complain. I have real police work to do. Want my advice? Sell it.

Good legalize it, it should have never been illegal anyways it's a natural native plant to this country. What is going on when we allow a government to make a native plant illegal and a crime, this is ridiculous, IT's NATURE......

@GerbCD Decriminalization is where it's still illegal but the laws aren't enforced. It still creates black markets, which are the biggest problem of drug prohibition. When drugs are legal, disputes can be handled in courts, quality can be controlled, adulterants can be standardized and safe etc. When drugs are illegal, but not enforced (decriminalization) disputes are handled with violence, there is no quality control, unsafe adulterants are used and so on.

@christo930 What is the difference between decriminalization and legalization?

Decriminalization is a mistake and will prolong the drug war. We need full legalization. Decriminalization doesn't deal with the black market, the primary driver of all the harm prohibition does and will cause a massive backlash when the black market profits are still there and police are powerless to deal with it.
What LEAP have done to raise the tone of the legalisation movement is very evident here. The reporters were able to cover the story without making any kind of demeaning remarks and treat it with the legitimacy it deserves. This probably wouldn't have happened 5 years ago. If the story made the air at all it would have been in the 'here's a wacky one..' category.
You may tire of me saying it, but I'll never tire of saying: I'm so glad that you are doing this.

Legalize it and get it over with, it's certainly thin down the prison population that tax dollars are being wasted on.
