You do know they were a convict population. You really think they would have had self determined to head back to argentina or live on an island prison. To which they agreed to seeing as they had started a mutiny against the warden to, which the warden raised down the argentine flag. Then you have the fact the British had already claimed the islands long before Argentine existed leaving behind a plague. So its not hypocritical just the slave talk you are taught in your schools.

Considering their is billions of pounds worth of oil, off the coast of the falklands, I'd say they are quite important, that is why the war over the falklands happend, just make sure you do your research first, thanks.

but that the islands aren't that important. only a few hundred people live there and they like it the way it is. invading the islands over an old territorial dispute was stupid, unnecessary and an act of war. if argentina hadnt invaded they would probably have got the islands back by now, like china got hong kong. now a war has been fought for it argentina will never get the islands back. if you choose to settle your differences by starting a war you can't then complain if you lose.

So you are saying that it was not ok by the Brits in 1833 to take the islands by force buts it perfectly fine for the Argentinians to do so?
