Pioneer NAS5 iPod dock - unboxing

Just bought this iPod docking station from Pioneer. You can see me unboxing the product. I tested my iPhone and it works perfectly when you switch Airplane mode on. The system has a great bass sound thanks to the subwoofer at the bottom. There's also an connection for an optional Bluetooth module. Enjoy the movie.

An update on the Pioneer, after playing around with placement I managed to get the sound almost right. This unit is very placement sensitive,more than the B&W Zeppelin and Bose SD10.

What Pioneer should do is have several presets for the bass(to limit by 3db and 6dB).

@rossmorris The B&W Zeppelin butchers this unit in sound quality by a LONGSHOT! The SoundDock 10 also leaves the Pioneer in a pool of proverbial blood ! People complain how Bose is overpriced,the SoundDock 10 side by side with this Pioneer leaves you wondering what Pioneer was thinking,the sound is BOOMY(cause high tune of the cheapo ported bass module)!

@Isakceim NO if you value balanced sound, YES if you do not know better and are used to low end gear. The design is great, the sound far from it.

Very disapointed with the sound quality of this unit, the "sub" is boomy and very average even if the unit was sold for half the full retail! The two fullrange drivers do a fair job. Overall not worth the money.Deep bass,this unit has ZERO deep bass.Boomy not deep.

The Bose SoundDock 10 and B&W Zeppelin both surpass this unit in sound quality(most important aspect of any speaker/dock) and loudness(not important to me).

the B&W is nice, but doesn't feature an FM/AM radio. And the BT streaming is also a great feature

Shit, i didnt even know Pioneer made an iPod dock. im a big Pioneer fan. but i think i would still get the Bowers & Wilkins... ohhh its a tough choise
