  • we just piles and 2 foot stack of rocks along the base of our fence so that they can't just drive right up to my retreat. Were looking into bamboo along the back fence by the stream, was wondering if you thought that was a good idea? Blessings!

  • @BexarPrepper Bambo is great and you can use it for alot of things but it can get out of hand so make sure that is where you want it because it will take over and spread

  • Ok I see your point on not having trees close to the house but the red roof is still a bit much and the light cinder block could be painted a earth tone to lower the flashy ness of the house shown in nat geo special

  • @dsarti1 there are trees all around the house out about 40 yards so the house has grass around it then there are a wide band of forest around it then a field (field of fire) the house blends with all the other farm houses on the road. It doesnt stick out with the other house. The field around it ranges from 200 yards to 500 yards around the house its designed right if you could be there and see the big picture. But thanks for your ideas.

  • Did you have all of this in mind originally when you acquired your chunk of land? Just curious. I'm in the boat where I'm hoping to buy land soon and these tips will be handy for narrowing down my selection. Your channel is truly excellent!

  • @brown55061 Yes and no.....want land off the beaten path and thats what I was looking for. All this can be done with many different pieces of property.

  • Great vid. I had an idea not long ago on fencing. chain link is week and easy to cut, brambles are easy to slash through too, but if you grow your bushes through your chain fence they are much stronger. (like re-bar in concrete)

Most cutting tools are for wood or metal not both and using the wrong blade rely slows you down. think of a fast way through one and it won't work for the other.

  • BIG thumbs up on the trashcan full of dirt idea SP1!!! Never thought about that

  • GREAT ideas the manhole covers and trashcans thats great because there are alot of trachcans in my naborhood and i can take the manhole covers and put them in every other trash can of my trashcan fence

  • @InTheSticks0001 Dakota is a great outfit. My receiver quit working after less than a yr of use, and they replaced it no questions asked. Also on of my remote motion detectors died....a spider got in and messed up the circuit board. It was taken care of at a nominal cost. It is a good item to own for sure!

  • @dsarti1 LMAO! Good idea! 'Ol Ironhead can be a fountain of practical advice on that topic! My son saw a program that advised to dump old dresser drawers and clothes, perhaps some trash and broken electronics in the yard, to fake an already ransacked home and perhaps then you will get passed by. My plan is to post a sign on top that says "The only thing we have to eat here is lead! Come git some!" Of course I do plan to help my neighbors...that sign is just for the roving hordes!

  • @southernprepper1 WOW now I see what they were talking about "high value target" the whole neighborhood is full of $250,000 plus houses??? Heck yea if I was a gang of neaked mutant ninja Bikers I would aim right for the whole street... Get IronHead 41 to come help you with some redneck decorating then thy will pass the place by for shure LOL

  • A good idea for stopping *most* vehicles is to put nails in some plywood in the road.

  • I really enjoy your vids, one thing I would add is some form of ATV and a gas powered chain saw, during a hurricane or tornado you could find yourself with no way out. I also stock several bags of charcoal so that I have a way to cook. Several of my buddies lost tones of deer meat because they had no way to cook it.

  • I think it wouldn't be bad idea to have written plan and collect ideas there. There were many ideas in this video, which I would never thought of.

  • Hey SP1, thanks for this video!!! Quick request: could you talk about your NatGeo experience a bit and what kind of a feedback did you get after it aired.

    Thanks for awesome videos!
