  • The $300 price tag makes the 8" version of this kind-of expensive. For around the same price and size, you could get an 8" Eee PC with 1GB ram, 80GB hard drive, and everything else to have a super compact laptop. With the built in bluetooth (or a USB cable), you could just sync with your mobile and edit documents in a full version of Excel, etc. Why not just make software that would allow a remote desktop connection to a mobile.

  • If you want to buy a netbook, buy a netbook. This isn't a replacement for a netbook.

  • I can't believe you didn't show the web on there. Doesn't your smart phone have pocket IE? That's one of the major selling points of having a larger screen is a greater internet experience that you would have on the small smart phone screen. Are you hiding something? Why didn't you launch the web browser?

  • The person giving the demo is the CEO of REDFLY, so if you think HE'S hiding something, then you're delusional. I don't know why he didn't demo Pocket IE - it was CES, he was doing demos all day and probably just forgot.

  • why they did not make the wireless connection one ??? ... how could we get comfort with too many devices and cable on the desk

  • ...would be:

    1. you could crank the CPU speed, battery capacity, RAM size, display size without having a brick next to your head.

    2. the big radiation source is located remotely from your head. so the risk of having brain tumor is reduced.

    3. bye-bye syncing hassles...all your data is in the big little device..which is your main computer...

  • exactly 180 degrees to what i've been imagining how cell phones should progress...

imo, the processing power, huge battery, radio transmitter, big display should be clumped together on the computer cum phone. the talking device that you stick to your ear would only contain basic functionalities (selecting numbers, starting/ending calls, controlling volume, and possible entering text). the display would be small (possible long to accommodate text messages).

    the benefit with this arrangement....

  • Also, I have the alt-tab assigned to the PTT button on my HTC Tilt. I'm not sure, but I believe it's a feature of one of the SPB applications. There's another hack to be able to re-assign the PTT button. I don't have the information near by, but I'm sure a Google search will help anyone interested.

  • The feature - change internal resolution is amazing. I miss that feature in programs like MyMobiler or Pocket Controller very much
